Difference between closure lace and frontal lace

Hair ties and front laces are the two best types of wigs that users ask for. These two types of lace wigs give the wearer an impressive look. It’s hard to tell that you’re wearing a wig when using them. Therefore, with other types of wigs on the market, front wigs and lace closures often cost more. Let’s explore them in this article and how they differ.

What are lace closures and front laces?

Lace front wigs are wigs made from real human hair with two layers of scalp simulated using high-end technology. Lace is typically 4 inches long in the back and 13 inches across. Some lace frontals are made from synthetic fibers, but it is not as good as those made from human hair. Lace front is very popular because it is comfortable to use and easily fits people’s head and hair.

Lace closure is by a double scalp with a 4×4 inch length of lace. Both lace front and lace front wigs have less installation time than other types of wigs and are easy to style (dye or curl).

What is the difference between closed lace and front lace

The closure lace and the front lace are the same, there are only very little differences. Here are 3 big differences between closed laces and front laces:

Size of lace closure and lace front

The closing wire is always smaller. As we mentioned above, lanyards typically come in 4×4 inch lengths. It is placed in the middle of the head or on one side of the head. Although the front lace is typically 13×4 inches long, it can cover your entire head. So, it offers more options for hair textures, whether curly or straight or even different hair colors.

The wisdom of lace closure and lace front

Closed ties are used when they are the same color and texture as your hair while front ties are more flexible. You can choose other hair colors and textures without worrying that it won’t match your own hair as long as you hide your hair well under the wig.

Advantages and disadvantages of each type

Braids and front ties are both useful accessories for women, but they both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages of lace closure and front lace:

– Easy to apply on the head, can instantly and amazingly change your hair

– Does not harm the scalp and hair

– Dress comfortably

– Requires very little maintenance

Disadvantages of lace closure:

– It’s difficult to style. The best way to tie your hair this way is to leave it loose. Other hairstyles such as braids, ponytails or buns are difficult to try.

– When hair grows, it will push the lace out. So the only solution is to go to a hairdresser and ask them to do it for you.

Disadvantages of front lace:

– Front lace is much more expensive than closed lace.

– It can damage hair roots and cause skin irritation, especially if you have sensitive skin.

How to make lace/lace front wig

The process of making a lace or lace front wig will take 3 or 4 hours. You can do it yourself at home. There are some popular techniques such as glueless method, half-lace tying, and quick weaving.

What to prepare?

There are things you need to prepare before you start making lace wigs. These make it easier to make a closed or lace front wig.

– Mannequin head

– Dome-shaped wig cap

– A hair comb

– Sewing kit includes curved needle, tweezers, and weaving thread

– A push pin to hold the weft in place

– 3 or 4 bundles with laces or lace fronts

5 steps to make a lace/lace front wig

Step 1: Put the wig cap on the mannequin’s head.

Step 2: Sew the closure or front panel to the front of the wig cap. Use pins to keep the cover in place.

Step 3: Use a needle and thread to sew the closure around the wig cap.

Step 4: Once you have finished sewing all the wefts to the wig cap, cut off the excess.

Step 5: Remove the wig cap from the mannequin’s head and cut off the excess wig cap below the lace.

After completing all 5 steps, you can try on your new wig and look at yourself with it in the mirror. Use a comb to make the hair look natural on your head. If there is any area that doesn’t look right, you can use tweezers to pull out your hair to make it more natural.

How long does lace closure last?

Some of our customers ask Messi Hair if the lace updo is durable. The question is, it depends on the quality of the hair used for tying and how you take care of it. Good quality lace closures made from synthetic fibers can last up to a year while closures made from human hair can last up to three years. Of course, the price of a hair tie made from human hair is much more expensive.

Classification of thread quality

There are many types of lace with different qualities. Quality lace is thin, does not cause irritation to the scalp and hair. There are 3 types of laces that are considered quality products: Swiss Lace, transparent lace and HD laces.

– Transparent lace: the biggest advantage of Swiss lace is that it is extremely thin so it will match your skin tone when worn.

– HD lace closure: HD lace is the best lace closure. It can fit your scalp perfectly and looks undetectable. HD lace is more expensive than other types of laces.

– Swiss lace: Swiss lace is thicker and darker than these two types of lace. Therefore, when choosing Swiss lace, you should choose the type that is suitable for your skin.
